New and Improved Yamalube® 4M FC-W® Low Phosphorus Formula
As horsepower and its resulting internal pressures increase in marine four stroke engines,
lubrication is critical for reliability and long service life. Therefore, Yamalube 4M engine oils
in both 10W-30 and 20W-40 weights now have an entirely new and improved mineral-based,
low-phosphorus formulation that is fortifi ed with molybdenum compounds.
These molybdenum compounds help reduce wear caused by the sudden changes in
engine speed and sustained high-RPM operation common to four stroke marine engines.
Documented testing by a major independent laboratory proves a reduction in wear of
85% over the previous Yamalube 4M formulation. In addition, the low-phosphorus
formula helps signifi cantly reduce power-robbing ash deposits through the addition
of ashless anti-wear additives.
The new Yamalube 4M formulations continue to offer a proprietary blend of additives
necessary to maintain the proper lubricity and start-up protection requirements unique
to four stroke marine engines. These include corrosion-inhibitors, shear-stable polymers,
anti-foaming agents, detergents, dispersants and more. Most automotive engine oils lack
suffi cient additives for the harsh marine environment.
Of course, Yamalube 4M has been and continues to be FC-W® certifi ed by the National Marine
Manufacturers Association (NMMA®).

New Yamalube Oil Packaging
All Yamalube marine engine oils (2M and 4M) now feature unique new packaging and attractive
action photography on the labels to assist in choosing the right oil for the application.
For instance, Yamalube 4M includes an image of a four-stroke outboard, while Yamalube
2M features an image of a two stroke outboard. Additionally, quart packages have been
re-designed using a distinctive new bottle which makes them easier to handle and pour.
Look for the new Yamalube 4M in the bright blue bottle with the blue cap, and Yamalube 2M
in black bottles with a blue cap.
Yamalube Care Products
Yamaha has also put its entire line of marine care products under the trusted
Yamalube brand. Everything from fuel additives to cleaners, lubricants to
adhesives now carry the Yamalube name. With the change comes a re-design
of each product’s labeling. New color-coded stripes on the labels indicate the
product’s “family” and intended use to help in choosing the correct product for
the specifi c application.
